Privacy and Data Protection Policy

1. General Information

This website (the "Platform") is accessible at: www.exchangesolidarity.com. The Platform is also available as a mobile application.

The Owners of the Platform "InventionSolidarity", as of an object of intellectual property rights, are its developers, Greek citizens Kaloidis Dimitrios and Tsoposidis Daniil (the "Operators").
The Platform is non-commercial until and unless the Owners decide to commercialize it, which will require the re-issue of this Policy. Any terms that allow the commercialization of the Platform shall only come into force from the moment specified above.

These Terms are applied along with the Terms of Use and the Cookie Terms.

Operators, as recipients of personal data provided by You (the "User") through the Platform, implemented as a website and/or mobile application, undertake to maintain confidentiality, collection, procession, use, and disclosure under this Policy.

We ask you to carefully read the contents of the Policy.

 

2. What data may be collected?

​2.1 The following data about You (the «User”) may be collected and processed, including recording, systematizing, accumulating, storing, clarifying, updating, changing, retrieving, using, transferring across borders, distributing, providing, accessing, depersonalizing, blocking, deleting, destroying:

  • personal data, i.e. data identifying the User and provided by him/her when using the Platform by filling out special forms (e.g. registration forms), when publishing offers on the Platform, participating in any contests, promotions or surveys, sending messages by e-mail or other means, as well as reporting a problem with the Platform, including mandatory information required for registration to receive services provided on the Platform or access other services (name, e-mail address, mobile phone number, and user password). If the required information is not provided, the Platform will not be able to provide services to the User due to the impossibility of creating accounts.

  • photograph.

  • postal address.

  • the content of correspondence between the User and the Operators.

  • the content of offers.

  • information about accounting or financial transactions carried out through the Platform or otherwise, including information about Service Fee payment transactions carried out through the payment service provider's website (e.g. identification number, amount and currency of transactions, information about the payment service provider, payment card or bank account). (All direct payment methods offered by Wix.com (the international cloud platform on which the Platform is created) and used by the Platform comply with PCI-DSS standards managed by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, created jointly by such payment systems as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help to ensure the secure processing of bank card information by the Platform and the payment systems connected to it.)

  • information about the User's visits to the Platform and the resources to which he or she has access.

  • the content of the User's responses to surveys in various forms (e.g. feedback on finished exchanges that you shared with other Platform users), which can be used for analytical purposes and to understand the needs of users.

  • information that may be requested from the User and/or that may be required when reporting problems with the Platform/Application or services (e.g. the subject of the User's request sent to the Operators).

  • location information.

  • passport data, including those voluntarily provided by the User, and other data or documents that he/she agrees to provide in response to the relevant request.

2.2 Information collected automatically.

2.2.1 During registration on the Platform through social networks, the Operators gain access to certain personal data (e.g. name, email address, etc.) contained in the User's accounts on social networks under the current terms of use of such social networks. The Operators also collect some personal data of the User when he/she uses the functions of third-party social networks (for example, the “Like” function).

2.2.2 Concerning each visit of the User to the Platform, under applicable law and, where necessary, with his/her consent, the Operators may collect data about the devices used and about the networks to which he/she connects when using the Platform services. Such data may include the following: the User's IP address, his login data, information about the type and version of the browser, types of browser plugins, operating system and platform, history of visits to the Platform, pages with URLs, browsing or search history, information about download errors, duration of visits to certain pages, interactions with pages.

 

3. How is the collected data used?

The collected data is used as follows:

  • fulfillment of any Operators’ contractual obligations before the User, as well as provision of the information and services requested by the User.

  • e-mailing by the User of information related to the services.

  • receiving payments from the User or, if applicable, payments refunding to the User.

  • providing the User with the ability to personalize his profile on the Platform.

  • providing the User with access to support services and the ability to communicate with the Operators.

  • ensuring compliance with applicable law, the Terms of Use, and this Policy. In cases of violations considered by the Operators deemed unacceptable, the User account may be suspended.

  • sending, under the applicable law, advertising materials and information necessary to simplify the service, as well as offers and recommendations regarding services related to services of the Platform that may be of interest to the User. Also, User’s data may be used to display advertisements of the Platform on social networks. More detailed information on how these functions work and the data collected about the User can be found on the relevant social network pages.

  • notifying the User about changes to the service.

  • administering the Platform and conducting internal work, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, analytics, and surveys.

  • improving the Platform to most effectively present the Platform’s content to the User.

  • providing the User with access to interactive functions of the Platform when the User needs it.

  • contributing to the security and reliability of the Platform.

  • placement and assessment of the effectiveness of the placed advertisements.

  • verification of the data provided by the User (phone, email, passport data).

4. Who are the recipients of the information collected by the Operators, and for what purposes?

​4.1 Certain information about the User may be communicated to its respondents, either in the User's public profile or during publications, only to the extent necessary for using the service (e.g. email address, phone number).

4.2 The Operators may receive and transmit information about the User, including personal data, if the User uses any other Platforms or applications managed by the Operators or other organizations and persons affiliated with them, to achieve the goals specified in this Policy.

4.3 The Operators also cooperate with third-party business partners, including social networks, authorized to receive the User's personal data as part of providing services to them to add information from their social network profiles to the Platform, advertising any services on the Platform to which the User may subscribe, including banking services, advertising services on the Platform, with the Operators' contractors in the technical field, in the field of accepting payments, data verification, user support, moderation by persons engaged in analytics.

4.4 The Operators do not disclose information about the User, including personal data, photographs, telephone numbers, email addresses, etc. to the above-mentioned third parties, except in the following cases:

  • the need to engage a third-party service provider to fulfill the Operators' contractual obligations with the User to improve or expand services (for example, to collect the Service Fee or receive funds from the User in connection with any services on the Platform).

  • as part of the process of publishing the offers.

  • as part of the rating system, reviews written by the User are published on the Platform.

  • as part of cooperation with service providers to process and analyze the data using search engines to improve and optimize the Platform.

  • User’s direct request (for example, in the case of authorization through social networks).

  • partial posting of the content of the service, including information posted by the User, on the Platforms of business partners via API or widgets with the posting of information from the User’s public profile.

  • if this is required by law or if the Operators reasonably believe that such access, preservation, or disclosure is necessary to respond to claims brought against the Operators, to comply with legal requirements, execution of agreements with the User, including the Terms of Use, this Policy, in an emergency that may result in harm to health, death, conducting an investigation, protecting the rights, property and ensuring the personal safety of the Operators, users, and other persons;

  • when the Operators sell or buy any economic activities or assets when the disclosure of the User's personal data to the future seller or buyer of such activities or assets is possible under applicable law.

  • when acquiring all or part of the Operators’ assets by a third party, when the personal data of its users held by the service constitutes one of the transferred assets.

4.5 Under applicable law and, where required, with the consent of the User, the Operators have the right to combine information about the User, including his personal data and cookie data transmitted or received by their business partners.

4.6 If the User provides information, including personal data, through the services of the Operators' business partners that allow adding information to the Platform, in addition to this Policy, the privacy policy of any of the Operators' business partners may also apply to the User. The Operators do not control the collection and/or processing of information about the User, which is carried out on the websites of their business partners.

 

5. How do the Operators use and moderate Users' messages?

​5.1 The Operators may check, scan, or analyze messages sent by the User through the Platform to prevent fraud, improve the quality of service, provide customer support, and fulfill contractual obligations with users.

5.2 The User hereby confirms his full consent to Operators to access their messages on the Platform, their monitoring, and other use on the terms described above.

 

6. Targeted advertising on social networks and messages from the Operators sent by e-mail

6.1 Under applicable law, the Operators may use the information provided by the User through the Platform for direct electronic marketing purposes (e.g. for newsletters, event invitations, etc., or targeted advertising on social networks).

6.2 The User may revoke their consent at any time by contacting the Operators in the manner specified in Section 13 below.

6.3 The Operators do not use the User's personal data to send third-party advertising messages and do not sell such data to third parties or business partners.

 

7. Is the User’s data transferred? How and where?

​7.1 The Platform is hosted on the international Wix.com cloud platform. The User’s data will be stored in the Wix.com data warehouse, databases, and Wix.com-shared applications on its secure servers with a firewall.

Wix.com is the processor of visitors’ data to the Platform. This means that Wix.com will only process such data to the Platform under the Operators’ instructions and on their behalf. Wix.com will not process such data to the Platform for its interests. For more information on Wix.com's obligations as a processor of the User's data, please see the Data Processing Agreement.

Upon the User's request to the email address specified in Section 13 below, the Operators may provide the User with additional information on cross-border data transfers.

 

8. What rights does the User have about his/her personal data?

​8.1 In cases provided by law, the User has the right to receive copies of their personal data held by the Operators. In such cases, the Operators have the right to require the User to confirm their identity and provide additional information to most effectively respond to the request within the timeframe established by law.

8.2 The User has access to his personal data through his account to correct, supplement, or delete them. The User is obliged to indicate in his profile reliable, accurate, complete information, and update or delete his personal data by sending a corresponding request to the e-mail address specified in Section 13 below.

To revoke consent to the processing of his personal data under this Policy, the User contacts the Operators by sending a corresponding request to the e-mail address specified in Section 13 below. It should be borne in mind that in some cases certain information about the User may be stored following the requirements of the law (for example, in case of suspicion of fraudulent actions or violation of the Terms of Use).

10. Confidentiality of the User Password

When choosing a password that provides access to certain sections of the Platform, the User is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of such password.

 

11. Links and redirects to other websites and social networks

Links and redirects to other websites and social networks on the Platform/its mobile application may from time to time contain links to websites that are Operators’ partner networks, advertisers, payment service providers, and affiliates. When following a link to any of these websites, you should mind their privacy policy, for which the Operators are not responsible.

 

12. Supplements/amendments to this Policy

Any supplements/amendments Operators may make to this Policy in the future will be provided on this page. In appropriate cases, the User will be notified of the need to provide the relevant consent. Please check regularly whether this Policy has been supplemented or amended.
